    KABUL(Kubha News)—Iran’s Deputy Ambassador to Kabul, Seyyed Hassan Mortazavi, reaffirmed Tehran’s commitment to refraining from supporting political opposition against the Taliban, emphasizing a focus on fostering positive regional interactions.

    During a meeting with Maulvi Abdul Kabir, political deputy of the Taliban’s prime minister, Mortazavi praised the Taliban’s foreign policy stance, particularly its position in the conflict between Iran and Israel and the Gaza war. He underscored Iran’s dedication to enhancing Kabul-Tehran relations.

    “Tehran is not in favor of strained relations between Afghanistan and neighboring countries and endeavors to facilitate the ‘Islamic Emirate’s’ constructive engagement with regional nations. Iran does not support political activities against the Islamic Emirate,” stated Mortazavi.

    Highlighting Iran’s readiness for collaboration in economic, commercial, and health sectors, Mortazavi conveyed Tehran’s commitment to implementing agreements across various domains between the Taliban and Iran.

    According to Afghanistan National TV, In response, Maulawi Abdul Kabir acknowledged Iran’s legitimate right to self-defense against Israel and expressed Kabul’s aspiration for amicable relations with all neighboring countries.

    Iran’s declaration of non-support for Taliban opposition coincides with heightened tensions in the region, as several political groups opposing the Taliban have aligned with Iran’s stance against Israel.
