Khost (Kubha News) – Authorities unveiled a grim discovery – the bones of more than 100 individuals unearthed from a mass grave nestled in the Sarbani area of Khost city.

Speaking to reporters during the solemn transfer of the remains, Qari Bismillah Bilal, the mayor of Khost city, divulged that a committee has been assembled to meticulously investigate the grim find. Only after a thorough investigation will the remains be laid to rest in a new resting place.

“A committee has been appointed to investigate these bodies, and so far more than 100 bodies have been found, including women’s clothes,” stated Bilal. “It is also possible that an entire family was killed here.”

The site was stumbled upon during routine excavation works for a water channel in proximity to Sheikh Zayed University. According to local residents and tribal leaders, this mass grave is believed to have originated during the rule of the People’s Democratic Party of Afghanistan (PDPA), dating back to the year 1358.

Bullet marks have been found on the skeletal remains, along with items like keys, watches, and combs, indicating a secret execution and mass burial.
