Kabul (Kubah News) Taliban’s deputy foreign minister, Abbas Stanikzai, in his latest remarks, once again emphasized the importance of education, especially girls education.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony (Bibi Ayesha School) in Kabul, Sher Mohammad Abbas Stankzai said, “Now that the Islamic Emirate is in power and there are no problems in the country, it is the government’s duty to provide an environment for both women and men so that Afghanistan can stand on its own scientifically.”

Stankzai referred to this issue, stating that, according to him, during the war in Afghanistan, some individuals did not have much opportunity for education.

This high-ranking Taliban official also mentioned the Taliban’s struggles in his remarks and highlighted the important role of women in them.

Stankzai said: “Today our country is free, the Islamic system is ruling it, so preserving the system is our duty, and God willing, our leaders, scholars, and people will realize the importance of educating and nurturing women.”

Abbas Stankzai, referring to the educational needs of women, said: “An educated woman is a thousand times better than a woman who knows nothing.”

He had previously emphasized the necessity of educating women in his speeches and had urged his leaders to open schools for girls.

More than 900 days have passed since the closure of girls’ schools above the sixth grade and the closure of some faculties in government universities to girls.

Afghan girls have repeatedly asked the Taliban government for permission to be educated, but despite this and international pressure, girls’ schools remain closed.
