Peshawar (Kubha News)—The death toll from floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has climbed to 70, with 67 others injured as heavy rains continue to wreak havoc across the region.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Disaster Management Authority reported that the floods, which began on April 21, have affected numerous areas, including Dir, Chitral, Swat, Bajaur, Shangla, Mansehra, Mohmand, Malakand, Tank, Mardan, Charsadda, Buner, Hangu, and parts of Peshawar.

Among the deceased are several women and 25 children. Nearly three thousand residential homes have collapsed, and thousands of acres of agricultural land have been submerged underwater.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Meteorological Department has forecast intermittent rainfall until April 21, exacerbating the already dire situation.

Dr. Abdul Rashid Nasir, from the Central Hospital in Chaman, Balochistan, mentioned that some injured individuals have been transferred to the hospital for treatment, while others remain missing.

Local residents are urgently requesting assistance for the affected families. Mohammad Bilal, a resident of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, highlighted that some families have been displaced and are in dire need of aid.

In response, the office of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has allocated 90 million rupees to assist the affected families.
