Kabul (March 3, 2024: Koba News) As a result of seasonal rains and floods in various regions of Pakistan, 36 people were killed and 50 others were injured. Pakistani officials have told the media that floods have hit Kashmir under Pakistani control, Baluchistan, and the Swat Valley, but the highest human casualties and financial losses have occurred in the Swat Valley.
Local government officials in the Swat Valley of Pakistan have said that with the destruction of 700 houses in this valley, 30 people have been killed and 50 others injured.
Five more people have also been killed in Baluchistan because of floods and the destruction of ten houses.
Local officials in the Gilgit-Baltistan region have also said that the important Karakoram Transit Highway connecting Pakistan to China has been blocked due to snowfall, rain, and landslides on commercial trucks between China and Pakistan. Seasonal rains in Pakistan usually start in early winter, but this year, contrary to usual, rainfall began in March and caused significant damage.
In 2022, Pakistan also witnessed heavy rainfall and massive floods, resulting in more than a thousand deaths and forcing more than eight million people to leave their areas.
