Peshawar (Kubha News)- Manzoor Pashteen, leader of Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), has pointed a finger squarely at the Pakistan Army, asserting that the roots of terrorism do not lie in Afghanistan but within the General Head Quarters (GHQ) of Pakistan.
In a recent x space, amidst escalating tensions following a suicide attack in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan and retaliatory airstrikes in Afghanistan, Pashteen minced no words, stating, “This is the army’s policy, and war is their modus operandi.”
Pashteen emphasized the need for a broader perspective, urging scrutiny of the situation spanning the past two decades. He questioned the efficacy of security measures, remarking, “With army and security cameras on all roads, how do fighters infiltrate Mir Ali? The army’s complicity or incompetence is evident in both scenarios.”
Further, Pashteen accused the Pakistan Army of perpetuating the terrorism quagmire, alleging vested interests along the Durand Line. He argued that the army’s reluctance to resolve the issue stems from its strategic stakes in the region.
Highlighting a shift in focus from Kashmir to tribal areas and the Durand Line, Pashteen claims that the Pakistan Army previously received significant funding for Kashmir, but now they’re redirecting their focus to tribal areas and the Durand Line to secure financial support.
Pakistan Air Force conducted airstrikes in Afghanistan on Monday, claiming targeting Pakistani militants. However, images released depict civilian casualties caused by Pakistani jets and the Pakistani Taliban in North Waziristan, revealing their presence in the area.
Three children and four women were among those killed, according to Taliban officials, who condemned the strikes as a violation of Afghan territory.
