Kabul (Kubha News) – U.S. Special Envoy for Afghan Women, Girls, and Human Rights has discussed Afghan issues with officials from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
Rina Amiri wrote on her X page that in her meeting with officials from JICA talked about their development and educational programs in the region, they discussed expanding cooperation in the educational sector and providing educational opportunities for Afghan women.
At the same time, Ms. Amiri met with Tadamichi Yamamoto, former UN representative for Afghanistan and member of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation in Japan, where they discussed the situation in Afghanistan.
Sources have confirmed to Kubha News that Mr. Yamamoto is among the candidates for the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Afghanistan.
UN Secretary-General spokesperson and the U.S. State Department have recently announced the restart of efforts to appoint a Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Afghanistan.
