Islamabad (Kubha News) – The Pakistani cabinet presided by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has extended the PoR cards of Afghan migrants until the end of May of this year in a meeting on Friday, April 26.

Previously, the Pakistani government had given holders of these cards until April 1st to leave Pakistan. With the extension of these cards, Afghan migrants can continue their education in Pakistani institutions and avail themselves of banking services and other facilities.

Although the validity of PoR cards has been extended for now, the Pakistani cabinet has decided that in the third phase of expelling illegal migrants, migrants with these cards will also be deported to Afghanistan.

The PoR cards, issued to Afghan migrants by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Pakistani government, alongside other benefits, have provided livelihood opportunities for them.

In November of last year, the Pakistani government initiated the process of expelling undocumented migrants from the country, leading to the return of approximately half a million Afghan migrants to their homeland.
