Kabul (Kubha News)- Manizha Sediqi, a women’s rights activist, has been released from Taliban custody after six months in prison, according to a source who spoke to Kubha News.
Sediqi, detained on charges related to a protest against women’s rights violations, returned to her family in Kabul today.
She was held without a court order, and concerns were raised about her treatment and health in prison. Last week, Sediqi appeared in a Taliban-organized press conference from inside the prison, addressing her health but denying the charges against her and demanding her release.
While the Taliban recently released some journalists and civil activists for Eid, there’s still no information on the fate of Ezatullah Zwab, a journalist detained a month ago.
Additionally, Alia Azizi, former head of a women’s prison in Herat, detained by the Taliban two years ago, remains missing, with her family desperate for any updates on her whereabouts and charges.
