Prishtina (Kubha News) This medal is awarded annually to individuals who fight for freedom and equality for women.
Vjosa Osmani, the President of Kosovo, awarded this medal to Afghan women this year, and it was presented to Afghan women representatives Madina Darwazi and Arefa Fatimi.
At the “International Women, Peace, and Security Conference,” held in Prishtina, the capital of Kosovo, with the participation of more than eight hundred women from 40 countries, participants strongly condemned the restrictions imposed by the Taliban on Afghan women.

Madina Darwazi, a women’s rights activist, stated during the medal presentation that while the world’s attention is focused on conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, awarding this medal to Afghan women demonstrates that the world has not forgotten Afghan women.
Ms. Darwazi emphasized that women, as half of Afghanistan’s population, are currently deprived of all their rights, especially education and employment, and are suffering under difficult conditions.
Since August 15, 2021, Kosovo has been hosting hundreds of Afghans, including women who have left Afghanistan following the Taliban’s return to power and are awaiting resettlement in a third country.
